Defaults don\u2019t work for everyone, hence having as many options for configuration as possible is always a good thing. This can apply to anything, but it\u2019s particularly important if it\u2019s something you use all the time, like your mouse.<\/p>\n

Deciding on your DPI, polling rate, and other such settings takes a bit of time and trial-and-error, but what about scrolling? Perhaps you prefer smoother motion or want to prioritize speed: ButterScroll lets you dial in your settings for an ideal scrolling experience throughout your system \u2013 or exclusive to just a few apps.<\/p>\n

Scrolling to your liking
\nThe program was designed to provide users with more control over their scrolling. It does so by giving you various sliders and options to configure, such that you\u2019ll be able to customize your scrolling in a very granular manner.<\/p>\n

Naturally, this involves some trial and error, but the program is nevertheless very intuitive and easy to work with. Some options are meant to modify how the scrolling is handled by your system, while others tackle the animation itself.<\/p>\n

A variety of animation types to try
\nUsers can choose from any of the 5 animation types, each having a distinct feeling. There\u2019s the no-nonsense straight animation, as well as different variations of a smoother, more floaty style.<\/p>\n

You can customize this further by changing the duration of the animation, as well as opting for a smoother profile through the Easing Tail slider. What’s more, what I found especially nice is that you can exclude certain apps from your ButterScroll configuration and use the default Windows settings instead.<\/p>\n

Scroll as you like
\nButterScroll lets you configure the behavior of your mousewheel with granularity. With the numerous available options and enough time to test everything accordingly, you should be able to fine-tune your scrolling just as you like.<\/p>\n
